POSSIBLE DISRUPTION TO OUR SERVICES - 25th April 2001 The Manx Electricity Authority have told us they will be carrying out essential work which will interrupt the supply of electricity to our Castletown facilities on Wednesday 25th April (this date may change though as it is dependent on the weather!). We have in place our own diesel generator to enable us to provide continuous, uninterrupted power in such an eventuality. Having our own failsafe generator is one of the quality standards we took on board when building our state of the art Castletown facilities. We are inevitably exposed however when relying on a failsafe mechanism for continuity and so we feel it is right to bring it to your attention. Any unforeseen issues with our failsafe systems could only potentially affect hosted websites, leased line customers in Castletown and co-located servers - it will not affect dial-up users or customers with leased lines who are not based in Castletown. Customers must ensure that they have carried out the changes to the DNS entries we specified in our previous Newsletter. To reiterate, we do not expect any problems or interruption of service. In any unforeseen event, such as the failure of our generator facilities, we ask you to bear with us and we will ensure that full service is maintained as soon as possible. The fees structure for IPass our internet roaming service has now been simplified. Prices have been standardised and are dependent upon the region/country in which you connect to the internet. The following comment was received from Peter Wenham a Sales Agent based in the UK who uses our service when he travels "I am very impressed with your service and wish to recommend you to others that do similar work to myself." To further improve the provision of Cisco products and services to our customers we have now obtained Cisco Authorised Reseller status. This gives us up to the minute access to technical resources and product information dramatically improving the levels of support we can provide to our customers. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFER TO CLUBMAIL If you are involved with a sports clubs or society you should really take a look at ClubMail. ClubMail allows club officials whether it is team captains or the secretary to email all members without any need to change any current email addresses. Everyone has access to email these days, at work if not at home. ClubMail automatically forwards all email from a club address which ClubMail provides e.g. jon@rushenunited.org.im to any address you currently use. In conjunction with Bank of Bermuda we are able to provide this amazingly useful capability FREE. This solution provides an excellent way to exchange information on the progress of projects either with other members of staff worldwide or with your clients confidentially, without the need for paper work or telephone calls.
