On Tuesday, 1st March 2005, Domicilium hosted a very successful Exhibition, at the Villa Marina, demonstrating the latest in IT and telecommunications solutions including Domiciliums’ Next Generation Service Network, VoIP, voice recording, video conferencing and security.
Speaker of the House of Keys, Tony Brown SHK, opened the event stating “I was delighted when I was asked to officially open this important exhibition today “the 21st Century Communications Exhibition”. I have watched with much interest the continual development of Domicilium, a Castletown based company, over the years since it came into being in 1995.”
“I wish Domicilium continued success for the future and I hope that the Island continues to develop and expand the opportunities available in the world of the Internet – we have much to gain and we know we can provide a top quality service”.
On a political level Tony Brown SHK went on to mention the Islands Government lighting its own optical cable “It will importantly mean that the Island can control its own destiny in this important commercial area and not be reliant on outside influences. Very importantly lighting our optical cable can mean that we can become more price competitive with considerable capacity available and thereby potentially attract substantial new business to the island – we may have to be speculative, but nothing is gained for our Island if the optical cable remains unused and we remain over cautious.”
He finished by adding, “Today Domicilium and their partner exhibitors will give live demonstrations of new technologies. I am sure it is going to be a most informative and interesting exhibition and I congratulate Domicilium on their initiative and hope that the Exhibition is a success.”
Looking back over the day’s events, Domiciliums Business Development Manager, Alan Cowin, said “The exhibition more than exceeded our expectations. Our objective was to demonstrate to the Isle of Man community that we can offer cost effective solutions to provide business with appropriate, easy to use tools, to become more effective with business communications to clients, partners and internal staff wherever they may be around the globe - I feel confident we achieved that here today.”
