The Albatros DIII was one of the great fighter aircraft of WW1. The number of kills made by this formidable machine were only overshadowed by the tendency of the wings to fail under stress, something that was never completely fixed by the German manufacturers! Over 4,000 Albatros D models, were manufactured, with the DIII accounting for over 1,300.
