Domicilium (IOM) Ltd - Energy Champions

5th March 2009

At a recent event run by the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Trade and Industry, a number of awards were handed out to both government departments and businesses as recognition for their reductions in energy consumption achieved through the Energy Champion scheme.

Domicilium were presented with an award in recognition of the energy efficiency designed into their next generation Isle of Man Datacentre. Energy improvements include low voltage lighting and modern flat screen displays, with larger savings achieved through the use of highly efficient free-cooling air conditioning systems which provide savings in excess of 52% over conventional technology.

The above, together with the use of specialist building materials ensure that the power usage of the Isle of Man Datacentre is kept to a minimum saving Domicilium tens of thousands of pounds per year. More importantly these innovations enable Domicilium to offer clients the ability to meet their environmental objectives in addition to delivering a more cost efficient service.

Speaking at these awards, Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney said “We can no longer afford to take energy for granted.”
