Domicilium sign strategic partnership with PSINet Europe for the launch of Europe-wide Intranet solutions

PRESS RELEASE – Wednesday June 4th 2003

Domicilium, the Island’s leading independent ISP, is pleased to announce that it has signed an exclusive strategic partnership agreement with PSINet Europe, the leading pan-european provider of e-business infrastructure solutions. Cementing Domicilium’s long-standing relationship with PSINet Europe, the agreement will allow Domicilium to sell permanent office-to-office connections between locations on the Island and the rest of the world at significantly discounted prices compared to those currently available to Island Companies.

Jon Allen, Managing Director of Domicilium, comments:

“We have been working with PSINet Europe for three years now and we have developed an excellent working relationship. We have recently significantly enhanced our on-Island and off Island network which allows us to deliver these new circuits to any premises on the Island. We view this as a very important strategic development for Domicilium and a significant benefit to the Island as a whole.”

Stephen Scott, UK Managing Director of PSINet Europe, comments:

“We are delighted that our relationship with Domicilium is being made even stronger through this strategic partnership. PSINet Europe prides itself on the outstanding levels of customer service and technical expertise, and giving peace of mind to our customers is always our key priority. The partnership with Domicilium allows us to extend our reach through a company that really understands our business – and we feel very confident that running our networks together in this way will benefit not only our customers but both businesses too.”

Phil Adcock, Technical Director of Domicilium, comments:

“Our Intranet solutions are unique to PSINet Europe and ourselves in the European market and provide a highly secure, guaranteed performance alternative to the traditional Internet circuit and VPN, utilising a totally secure lower layer of frame clouds. A key advantage of this service to business is that it delivers protection against hackers since traffic is not visible on the public Internet. You can’t hack what you can’t see. We have listened carefully to our business customers and have developed Intranet solutions to offer flexible bandwidth with service level guarantees.”

An intranet solution from Domicilium is in direct competition with traditional point-to-point telecom circuits but offers greater flexibility and at a considerably reduced cost.

Tim Craine, the Isle of Man’s Ecommerce Director, comments

"I very much welcome Domicilium's link up with PSINet Europe which will be a useful addition to the telecommunications offerings available on the Isle of Man. The agreement also demonstrates the increasing external recognition of the standards of telecommunications services available here on the Island which is important from the point of view of being able to attract quality e-business developments."
