Domicilium (IOM)
Limited celebrated both its 10th anniversary and the recent launch
of the first online casino to go live under a licence from the Isle of Man
Government – Casino Atlantis Online (www.casinoatlantis.com) on the 25th
of January 2002. To mark both these
events Domicilium and Skanco Business Systems hosted a reception attended by
SunOnline Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Sun International Hotels Ltd that
owns Casino Atlantis Online, and senior members of the Islands Government and
business community.
Since its
formation as Advanced Systems Consultants Limited, Domicilium has evolved into
one of the premier business internet service providers on the Island. By
focusing on core internet technologies such as network security and design
consultancy they have become key suppliers to the international online gaming
companies, such as SunOnline Ltd, which have been attracted to the Island.
A recent significant step towards the establishment of the
required infrastructure was the strategic alliance formed last year between
Domicilium and Skanco Business Systems Ltd.
Subsequent to the alliance very significant investments were made by
both parties into the facilities at the Restart Centre on the outskirts of
Douglas. Domicilium in conjunction with
Skanco now offers the largest state-of-the-art hosting facility on the Isle of
Man, together with the Islands most resilient internet network and a
joint team of highly skilled internet and engineering staff.
Jon Allen,
Managing Director of Domicilium commented “Both Domicilium and the Isle of Man
have come a long way over the past 10 years as we embraced internet technology. It is a great credit to the foresight,
persistence and skills of the founders, Phil Adcock and Mike Bromwich, that we
have been selected by such a prestigious multi-national company as Sun
International to be their internet hosting and technology partner on the Isle
of Man.”
David
Butterworth, Managing Director of Skanco Business Systems added " the
issuing of the online gaming licences by the Isle of Man Government, marked a
significant step forward for e-commerce on Isle of Man. We are delighted to
have been instrumental in securing the business of SunOnline Limited for the
Island, and wish them every success with their new offshore venture.
CEO of SunOnline
Ltd, Tobin Prior, said “We are pleased to have found such high quality IT
services for the support of Casino Atlantis Online. Domicilium has played a key role in ensuring that the back-end
facilities match the quality of this world-leading casino.”
The real
significance of this joint celebration is that it marks not only the coming of
age of Domicilium as a successful internet service provider but also the Isle
of Man as a leader in the offshore e-commerce race. “We are confident that the
endorsement of the skills and facilities of the Isle of Man by companies like
Sun International will go a long way to establishing internet services as a
significant contributor to the Manx economy.” said Jon Allen.
Domicilium has
expressed its sincere thanks to all its customers for their continued support.
